Kilkenny St. Patrick’s Day Parade Terms & Conditions 2026

These conditions are compiled & implemented to ensure a safe & enjoyable event for everyone.

  • There is no float entry fee for Community Groups/Clubs etc. Fee for Commercial Entries is €100, to be paid by EFT.  
  • Groups who do not fully complete the formal application form and agree to the terms and conditions cannot be allowed to participate in the parade.  
  • Groups should convene elsewhere and arrive to the starting point, at the top of John’s Street via Wolfe Tone Street (beside Centra), together at 12.30pm. 
  • Groups must check-in with a steward on arrival, who will then tell you what your ‘float number’ is.  This number and your physical starting point will be marked on a traffic cone.  It is essential that you adhere to the position you are allocated. 
  • An inspection of all entries will take place before the Parade commences and your entry must be in keeping with the description provided on the application/subsequently agreed with organisers. If you wish to change your entry please contact the organisers no later than 1 week before the Parade.   
  • Parade entries are encouraged to perform while moving through the streets.  If you plan for your group to walk to music (live or recorded) please inform the organisers when submitting your application, or at the latest 1 week before the Parade. 
  • The duration for a static performance in front of the Review Stand is strictly 2mins maximum and must be indicated when submitting your application.  If performing to recorded music, you must supply this in MP3 format at the latest 1 week before the Parade to parade@stpatricksfestivalkilkenny.com
  • For safety reasons, the entry of motorised vehicles is limited and at the discretion of the organising committee, larger vehicles (tractors, lorries and arctics) are not permitted.  
  • All vehicles/floats must be fully insured and the group must provide a steward for every set of wheels (e.g. 4 stewards if it is a standard vehicle with a wheel at each corner, 6 stewards if it is a vehicle with three wheels on each side).  Proof of relevant documentation may be requested in advance or on the day. 
  • Parade entries are not permitted to give the audience any handouts/sweets etc. This will be strictly enforced for the safety of the audience.  
  • Where generators are used, they must be diesel and carry fit for purpose in-date extinguishers.  Proof of relevant documentation may be requested in advance or on the day. 
  • The organising committee will not be held responsible for any accident or incident before, during, or after the Parade events. 
  • The organising committee retains the right to refuse entry to the Parade.  
  • Photography and videography will be taken pre, post and during the Parade. This footage may be used to showcase St. Patrick’s Festival Kilkenny 2026 and to promote future events. It may appear on SPFKK and its affiliates channels including, but not limited to, social media channels, website, and marketing material. It may also be shared with Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland, tourism related businesses and any other businesses for the promotion of tourism in  Kilkenny and Ireland. Requests by groups or individuals to be excluded/removed from this content should be made in writing to info@stpatricksfestivalkilkenny.com.  
  • Data Processing – by submitting this application, all applicants consent to the processing and sharing of their personal data with St. Patrick’s Festival Kilkenny, Kilkenny County Council, and nominated curators for the purpose of producing and reporting on the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Your contact details will be retained to be contacted about future St. Patrick’s Day Parade events (you can have your information removed from the database at any time by contacting info@stpatricksfestivalkilkenny.com).
