Making St. Patrick’s Parade in Kilkenny City Accessible for Everyone!
St. Patrick’s Festival Kilkenny is all about celebration, inclusivity, and community. We want everyone to enjoy the magic of our festival, which is why we are prioritizing accessibility to ensure that as many people as possible can take part in the fun.
Relaxed & Wheelchair Accessible Viewing Areas at the Kilkenny St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, one of the festival’s biggest highlights, will wind its way through the heart of Kilkenny on March 17th at 1:30 PM. We recognize that for some, large crowds and high-energy environments can be overwhelming or challenging to navigate. That’s why we’re introducing two separate dedicated viewing areas to create a more accessible and enjoyable experience:
1. Relaxed-Parade Viewing Area
Parade viewing area for neurodivergent children and adults and those with sensory processing differences. This cordoned off viewing area allows for extra space from the crowd and the vehicle sirens and drums will be reduced while passing this zone.

2. Wheelchair Accessible Viewing Area
A specially allocated section for wheelchair users and their companions, striving for clearer sightlines and a more comfortable experience.

Important Details:
- Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked.
- Each space is available for one individual + one companion/carer.
- Pre-registration deadline: March 14th at 5 PM.
- An EU Disability Card/ID may be requested on access.

Bringing the Festival to You – Live Streaming the Celebration!
If you’re unable to attend in person, we’ve got great news – you can still experience the magic of St. Patrick’s Festival Kilkenny from anywhere in the world!
We will be live streaming the parade and festival highlights from 12 PM – 6 PM on YouTube and Facebook, so whether you’re tuning in from home, abroad, or just prefer to enjoy the festivities from a distance, you won’t miss a moment of the action.
