Mayor of Kilkenny Cllr David Fitzgerald is delighted to welcome representatives from Kilkenny’s Twinned Towns to take part in the St. Patrick’s Festival Kilkenny festivities 2023.
Mayor of Moret-sur-Loing, France, Dikran Zakeossian and Catherine Hericher, President of the Twinning Committee will be in attendance as well as the Mayor of Malbork, Poland Marek Charzewski and his assistant Marta Wróblewska.
Kilkenny’s connection with their twin towns is treasured and the festival is delighted to welcome delegates from the different towns each year.
Twinning is about finding the right partnership with the right town that you share common bonds with, whether historically, commercially, culturally, or geographical.
It involves the communities of these areas and invites them to engage and learn from one another. Twinnings can be great opportunities to learn, gain insight and grow from the partnership. They help develop and maintain connections and create strong friendships and bonds of solidarity.
Kilkenny is twinned with 4 towns and cities, from Europe and the US.
In addition to those in attendance Kilkenny is also twinned with Formigne, Italy and Kilkenny, Minnesota, USA.
